Dysport Botox and Xeomin Q & A

Our corporate packages are designed to support your team in a holistic way, with direct 1:1 care for each individual and additional group events to keep their well-being top of mind throughout the year.

What is Botox?

Botox is the first neuromodulator to get FDA approval for use in facial wrinkles. Since 2002, when it came to market, it’s steadily grown in popularity and now shares the title of “most popular nonsurgical treatment” with fellow neuromodulator injectables Dysport and Xeomin.

Botox is made of botulinum toxin A, which is safe and effective when administered by an expert physician like Dr. Elliott and when used in the small quantities needed for wrinkle control. You may opt for Botox or another neuromodulator if you’re unhappy with lines and wrinkles in the top third of your face.

Botox relaxes the muscles between brows, in the forehead, and at the edges of your eyes for up to four months, to give you effective wrinkle control and prevention. Botox takes effect in as little as 24-48 hours.

What is Dysport?

Dysport is a botulinum toxin A formula that gained FDA approval in the United States in 2009. Before that, it was widely used in Europe, Asia, and South America for many years.

Dysport works in a virtually identical way to Botox, and, also like Botox, lasts for up to four months when used to manage crow’s feet and wrinkles between brow lines and on the forehead. Most patients notice improvement 2-3 days after Dysport treatment.

What is Jeuveau?

Jeuveau, also known as #NEWTOX, is another purified form of botulinum toxin that has been shown to deliver temporary improvement in moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines).

Some patients may grow resistant to the additives in Botox and Dysport after having repeated treatments. If that happens to you, Xeomin will still work. Xeomin may take effect 3 to 4 days after treatment, and in clinical trials, the effects lasted up to three months.

Which neuromodulator will work best for me?

Because all three formulas are very similar, you can get great results with any of them. If you’re not sure which one you’d like to try, Dr. Elliott can review the advantages and disadvantages of each as they relate to you. No matter which you choose, you can soon say goodbye to those lines.
